This view is from Matagorda Bay looking over Indian Point
and Indianola toward the south. Indian Point, was referred to as "Old
Town" after Indianola residents moved down the shore toward Powderhorn
Lake. The purpose of the move was to take advantage of the deeper water
at that location favored by Charles Morgan the shipping magnate. The downside
not recognized in moving to this area was the lower elevation and hence
more vulnerability to flooding (and hurricanes).

Although the old city is gone, there is still plenty to see!
